Preparing for Winter Weather

All over the news, here in Northwest Arkansas, we are hearing reports of some winter weather coming in this evening.  Having a 5 year old boy and a 1 year old girl this means I need to find something to keep them occupied!  So, I thought I would share with you all some of the fun things we plan to do when we are snowed {or iced} in.

We will definitely have to play some of Jordan's favorite board games.

Trouble, Toy Story Yahtzee, Life {yes, this is a little bit over his age, but he enjoys putting the figures in the cars and playing with the money}, and Chutes and Laddders are a few of his favorites.

We will spend a little time coloring and doing crafts.

If there is snow, of course we will have to make snow ice cream and follow it up with a cup of hot chocolate!  I'm going to try Paula Deen's recipe:

8 cups fresh snow
1 {14 ounce} can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I can't wait...I love snow and love being at home with my kiddos.

How do you spend a snow day?  We would love to hear...
