Apple Harvest Inspired Wedding

September: when the evenings begin to have a welcome chill, leaves turn a crisp array of colors, football is the favorite past time, and we pull out our favorite pair of boots and comfy sweaters. There is so much to love about the change from Summer to Autumn and so much inspiration packed into this single month for a warm, wonderful wedding.

Soft Summer Wedding Inspiration

Summer is hot, but that is no reason to postpone your big day.  With a little forethought and consideration you can make your August wedding just as comfortable and stunning as any June wedding.

Here are some suggestions for making your August wedding breathtaking and pleasant despite the hot weather.
  • Keep your guests cool by renting free standing misters which are said to make a surrounding area feel up to 10 degrees cooler.
  • Have your wedding program printed onto a lovely paper fan.
  • Make sure to have plenty of water available.
  • You and your bridesmaids may enjoy having your hair pulled up in a soft braid or a wispy updo.  Also, be sure to choose dresses with lightweight fabrics in soft pastels.
  • The new trend of a "naked" cake is an absolutely wonderful idea for a summer wedding.  No need to worry about it "melting"
  • Consider a late morning or early evening wedding to avoid the hottest time of day and be sure to assess your venue to determine the sunlight pattern. Set up your seating in an area that receives shade first.
  • Above all: have fun!

Colors: Pink, Cream, Ivory, with a touch of Brown

Elements: dark brown wood, lace, chiffon (lightweight fabrics), milk glass, paper fan programs, wood crates, "naked" cake, ice cream, low back dress

Flowers: White Gardenias, Coral Charm Peonies, Veronica, Ranunculus, Mini Coin, Peach Stock, all wrapped up with a beautiful Satin or Silk Ribbon

Fabrics: Chiffon, Charmeuse & Georgette

Just a Swingin'

Angie and I were little girls when John Anderson's {Swingin'} hit number one on the radio.
I remember trying to get our porch swing as high as it could go while singing "Yeah, and we'll be swingin'. (swingin'), Yes, we'll be swingin'. (swingin')"  at the top of our lungs...

...When our dad {John Kennedy} started making this porch swing, I couldn't help but let these fun memories flood my mind. He is an amazing craftsman and sells wonderful things out of his workshop.

If anyone in the Northwest Arkansas area would like an heirloom quality swing {or any other custom item} just convo us and we'll get you in contact with our dad!

Yeah, and we'll be swingin'. (swingin')
Yes, we'll be swingin'. (swingin')
Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing.
I can't believe I'm out here on her front porch in this swing,
Just a swingin' (swingin')
