Chocolate & Plum Wedding Board

Rich and luxurious are adequate descriptions for the inspiration board I am sharing today. The warm colors are inviting and intimate, they are kept in balance by the sprinkling of a blush tone.

Deep browns and purples look so lovely together, but can easily look monochromatic when paired together. Consider adding a blush pink to help add dimension and watch as your color scheme comes alive.

 Elements: This is a great opportunity to reuse old amber or brown glass bottles, they are lovely and make great flower vases for your reception tables. Bring in little pops of gold with some of your wedding decorations. I love the idea of adding some deep brown or purple velvet ribbon or your may enjoy adding some plant dyed silk ribbon. Honey & Fig Wedding Inspiration

The beauty this fall has been astounding. At every turn there are rich, luxurious shades of burgundy and gold. It is so easy to feel inspired when all nature is bursting with vibrant color.

This wedding inspiration board is full of lush, deep shades such as garnet and purple but also has some vibrant, lighter tones with pink and gold.

Black, White & Gold Fall Inspired Wedding

I love the idea of a black, white, and gold wedding in October but am sometimes turned off because they all seem to turn out looking very "Halloween'ish". Not that there is anything wrong with a Halloween inspired wedding, those can be very fun and pretty, too, but there are different ways to pair those colors together to achieve a much different look.

This board gives a few examples of how you can achieve a breathtaking black, white, and gold wedding, even with a pumpkin thrown in. The idea was to create the look of a black tie event and then add in the gold elements that were wanted to attain a very delightful appearance.

Paper Leaf Wreath

This year in planning out my fall decor I thought it would be fun to do something non-traditional and go with neutrals rather than the usual yellows & oranges. After searching through my fall decorations I realized this was going to be a near impossible task unless I came up with some inexpensive options or made something myself.

So after a little gathering, and work, this paper wreath was made.

 This wreath is extremely versatile and can easily be changed up by simply choosing a different color of paper.

Materials Needed:

metal wreath form

floral or scotch tape

ribbon

paper

silhouette machine or large maple leaf punch (I found this one online or you could even buy some precut from this Etsy seller)

The first step is to cut all of the leaves. Make sure to use a large leaf pattern, the leaves I used were sized to 4"x4", I used my silhouette machine to do this. If you do not have a silhouette or cameo machine check out the links I listed above for some options.  You will need 50-75 leaves (depending on their size) to make the wreath look full and to hide all open spots.

Attach the stem to the wreath form with floral or scotch tape (I found the Scotch tape to cooperate well and was more durable).

 

Continue to attach the leaves as you work your way around the form.  Fill in any holes once you have made your way around the entire circle.

 

Attach the ribbon to the wreath with a fun bow. I attached the ribbon to the top center of the wreath because I planned to hang it from an old door with the ribbon hanging from the top. It would also look adorable hanging off of the bottom center.

Hang up in your favorite location, and you're done!

It was really fun to see this wreath come to life out of something as simple as an old book. It added just the look I wanted for my fall decor and cost less than $7.00.

I made this printable after falling in love with the 20 free fall wreaths that  angiemakes.com shared in this blogpost, they are stunning. Admittedly it was extremely hard to decide which one to use because they are all equally wonderful.

Donuts and Apple Cider

Have you ever noticed how the coming of fall seems to directly impact the taste buds? I'm not sure about you, but my pallet seems to start craving comfort foods as the seasons change.

This inspiration board full of wonderful harvest inspiration and an apple theme had me longing for some sweet apple cider and donuts.

If you are planning a fall wedding or event here is a simple display that is sure to bring in the flavor and feeling of fall.

To make this cute display gather up the following:

plastic containers (I found mine here)

bamboo skewers

donut holes

cider

labels or tags

ribbon

For fun, because I am by no means a great cook, I decided to try my hand at making some pumpkin donut holes. 

This recipe was wonderful and very tasty. To achieve a circle shape I used a mini muffin pan rather than a donut shaped pan. I made cider using my mom's trusty method of simmering apple juice with red hots.  It is always very good  and is exactly how I feel cider should taste.

Once you have the donuts and cider you are ready to begin assembling the skewers.

 After adding the donut holes, add a pretty ribbon or two.  I mixed a simple brown ribbon with a pretty brown stitched burlap ribbon that you can find here.

Next add a label that is appropriate for your event, attach with some twine.

Now it is time to enjoy!

Such a simply sweet project that is also extremely lovely. Ours were snatched up in minutes and enjoyed by all.
