Lemongrass Wedding Inspiration Board

It seems the weather is just playing games with us. One day it is warm and sunny and the next the ground is covered with snow. I am ready for warmer weather and nice spring days and though I am trapped inside with snow on the ground I can still dream right?

The anticipation of sunny days, gentle breezes and new blooms were the inspiration behind this board. I love how it captures the tender touch of an early spring day.

Some elements used when designing this board were subdued yellows, natural linens and cottons, feminine patterns and wispy fabrics.

I think the key to making any wedding look great is using your choice of colors and elements sparingly and intentionally. The beauty will speak for itself, it does not have to be forced. I think this board is a great example of this. The inclusion of yellow is balanced out beautifully with the neutural characteristics of a beautiful flax color as seen in the flower girl dresses, table linens and bridesmaid dress.

Springtime Routine

Finally, spring has arrived!
We are doing our very best to take it all in and not let it pass by without us making the most of every moment.  One advantage of living in Northwest Arkansas is that we get to experience all {four} seasons to the fullest.
Some of the ways we like to enjoy the season are by:
Late nights on the porch swing.

Working in the yard!
This garage looks just like our grandpa's garage, so it had to be included in this post.
Nothing helps enjoy the seasons more than remembering how it felt to be a child.  This brings back so many memories.

Seeing and smelling the new life around us.
Nothing smells better than fresh air after a spring rain.
Not to be forgotten are: bicycle rides, open bedroom windows, and picnics.

How do you like to spend your spring days?

Spring Cleaning?

Although it may not feel like it.  Spring cleaning time has arrived!  With cleaning also comes the need for organization.   I know that I normally have no idea how to store things in a way that is functional as well as pleasing to the eye.  Here are some inspirational ideas for storage that I thought were great.  Maybe they will give you some inspiration!  I know that they did me.

I love the look of these galvanized buckets in the metal shelving although it may be a little too industrial for some.

This has such a simple charm!  I also think it would be very inexpensive to do this.  You could be as extravagant or simple as you would like to be with this idea!

These last 3 pictures all came from the Sew Many Ways blog.  The actual post where I found these pictures {you can access the post by clicking on the {via} link under her pictures above} is FULL of information and ideas for storage.  If you have time, you should take a look.  I promise you will come away with at least one idea you would like to reproduce yourself.

Happy Organizing!

April

The quote on this {diy} chalboard frame is what first attracted me to this picture.  But, after checking out their blog entry and reading about all of the many ways they have used this little project I am inspired to do one of my own.  I think it would be wonderful in my kitchen!

Take a look at those rain boots!  Aren't they adorable...  I need to get me a pair for rainy days {I mean weeks}.

Pleasant Pastels

We are so ready for spring, yet it seems to be teasing us.

Here are some of our Etsy favorites that bring spring to us.  You can't help but look at these and be happy!

We hope you have warm spring weather {wherever you may be} and are looking forward to some ourselves!
They say it should be warm on Friday.
How would you spend a warm spring day?  We would love to know...

Go Away Jack Frost

It is so cold here in NWA today.
Please go away Jack frost.

We are ready for spring and spring is ready for us!

We see touches of spring bursting forth around us.
